On Route 66 Near Seligman, Arizona

The story begins by telling of an idyllic childhood, living in a small Iowa town surrounded by acres of cornfields to play in.

When tragedy strikes, the child’s life takes an abrupt turn and begins the first of many, long, weary treks across, the now historic, Route 66.

That first trip was accompanied by unexpected illness and blistering heat, but also with a feeling of excitement about the new life ahead.  And Route 66 delivered, with California beaches, sunshine, the sweet aroma of orange blossoms on the breeze and orange groves with forts just waiting to be played in.

This story is living.  Therefore, it is ever-changing and on-going. It begins with the boys birth in 1945 and moves into the present, it also reveals the secret of how the boy became known as, “The Pizza Doc.”
